Welcome to my web-page. I've always been involved with textiles, from about the age of 5 when I started embroidery, then needlepoint, then bobbin lacemaking. I came late to quilting - the mid 1990's - and was only going to make 2 quilts for the spare bedroom. Oops!
Each of my quilts is unique and all my quilts are made from 100% cotton (unless otherwise specified) with 80% cotton + 20% Polyester wadding. On the first wash the quilts will shrink slightly. The wadding is flat to facilitate quilting and after washing it puffs slightly to emphasise the quilting. Care labels are sewn on the back of all quilts. Line dry or tumble but for large (double and over) I recommend should be laundered in a commercial laundrette with large machines, as when full of water they are very heavy and some domestic machines may not cope.
Cot quilts are approximately 36" x 42" [~91.5 cm by ~106.7 cm] but ones for cot-bed size (or any size) can be made on application.
Quilts should not be stored in plastic bags - use an old pillowcase if anything and take out and refold in a different way regularly to avoid weakening the quilt at the folds.
I-Spy quilts contain over 60 novelty fabrics and are designed as a play-mat / mini quilt. Approximately 36" square (36x36) [~91.5 cm by ~91.5 cm] they are to put on the floor, pop over on a buggy or car seat or sofa.
They are fun, educational and functional. Play I-Spy (with my little eye), they can be used from the baby stage (who love the bright colours) to teaching vocabulary, colours, counting, to even pre-teens (10-12) on car journeys . They come in 6 categories: unisex / boys / girls / animal themed / farm themed and Scottish. Children love them.
I also make similar quilts to individual order as "Memory Joggers" for people with Alzheimer's or dementia. Contact me for details.
I quilt on an HQ Avante 18" long-arm machine for the bigger quilts. I also take in quilt tops to finish by Long-arm and the Pantograph patterns start at £3 per square ft.

Our International shipping and insurance costs are weight based using UK Royal Mail international parcel services covering Europe / World Zone 1 / World Zone 2. International purchasers are kindly requested to contact JSQ by email for a specific shipping quote.
Exclusions:
I'm sorry but I do not do "Memory Quilts" made from children's clothes or tea-shirts and unless you are able to visit in person to discuss patterns & colour, I will not make to order. Neither will I make a quilt wallhanging from a cherished wedding dress as the stress levels for me are way to high. (Once was enough for me - thankyou.)
